The launch colloquium of the PRAM team from the Fonds de recherche du Québec – Society and Culture (FRQSC) took place on October 3 and 4, 2024, at the Université de Sherbrooke, on the Longueuil campus. Organized in collaboration with the Society, Rights and Religions Research Center of the University of Sherbrooke (SoDRUS), this event brought together researchers to debate the role of women in a context of religious politicization.

The first day began with a warm welcome, followed by an introductory speech. Three panels addressed various themes, with the first panel focused on women and state policies.

The afternoon was dedicated to the relationship between the media, women, and the public sphere, featuring discussions on the roles of women in political Islam in Mauritania and the representation of the Palestinian mother.

The final panel of the day examined the competition among non-state actors and highlighted the status and role of women in complex political contexts.

The second day was devoted to a working workshop reserved for PRAM members and speakers, aimed at delving deeper into each study and exploring opportunities for scientific publications, either as a special issue or a collective work.
